Efforts by fans of Blood Ties have gained considerable momentum in the past few days. Not only was the Save Blood Ties Collaborative blog launched but a new blog dedicated to the charitable efforts of Blood Ties fans was just launched here on WordPress on April 7th, 2008. Welcome Blood Ties Fans Give Back!
To top it off fans of another vampire show, CBS’s Moonlight, have joined forces with fans of Blood Ties to combine efforts. Blood Ties fans are encouraged to join in the Moonlight campaign to donate blood.
In return, Moonlight fans are encouraged to join in the ‘Blood Ties Fans Recycle For Sight’ campaign by donating used glasses (prescription glasses, sunglasses, non-prescription sunglasses, and reading glasses) to the Lion’s Club. This is an excellent way for Blood Ties fans to give back considering that the series’ central character, Vicki Nelson, was forced off the police force by retinitis pigmentosa. May is the Lion’s Club Recycle for Sight month so it is only fitting that Blood Ties fans join in this excellent cause starting May 1st. So, Blood Ties and Moonlight fans, dig through your cupboards and drawers, and even that glove compartment in your car, to see what you can find.
